Fresh from ASHG 2025, one message was clear: labs don’t have an innovation problem—they have an implementation problem.

Three takeaways stood out:

1️⃣ Execution is the real bottleneck.

Great strategies often stall when delivery meets the complexity of regulated lab environments. Everyone has a plan—few have the capacity to get it live.

2️⃣ Readiness is easy to overestimate.

Projects look manageable on paper...until validation, data migration, and change management come into play.

3️⃣ Data is still everyone’s problem—and no one’s job.

Ownership remains fragmented, yet it’s the backbone of every decision, integration, and assay expansion. The labs that fix this first will move faster than the rest.

We’ve seen these challenges firsthand—most recently helping a client rescue a stalled LIMS implementation and bring it across the finish line without resetting timelines or compliance.
